On the Farm -

You can just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet sitting on the patio taking in the view over the spectacular valley and woods or you can walk round the farm through the woods which are a blanket of wild daffodils, bluebells and snowdrops or wild garlic at certain times of the year, across the open grass fields where there is an abundance of wild life - barn owls, game birds and deer.

The farm is in a very rural farming area of North Devon - with idyllic scenery and yet within easy reach of local amenities and shops.

Children can help feed the chickens and collect the eggs and watch the sheep and cattle on the neighbouring fields.

The barn is surrounded by grass fields in which children can safely play within sight of the property and for the smaller ones the patio area is enclosed and directly accessed from the kitchen.

THE AREA -

Great Torrington is our nearest town and is about 5 miles. The town square and the newly refurbished Pannier Market were featured in the drama series "Down to Earth" on BBC One and in Torrington there are a good selection of shops - a small supermarket, local butchers, greengrocers and homemade bakeries as well as several banks and a chemist.

Dartington Crystal can be found in Great Torrington where visitors can see the local glassware being made and also make some wonderful purchases in their extensive shop.

Rosemoor Gardens is 2 miles away and is one of the Royal Horticultural Societies flagship gardens.

The Tarka Trail is about 2 miles for walking and cycling through Tarka Country. Weare Giffard being the birth place of Tarka the Otter. Bikes can be hired locally for all lengths of legs!

The farm is centrally placed for visiting Devon and Cornwall. Located between Exmoor and Dartmoor and about 25 minutes by car from the many beautiful sandy beaches of North Devon -Westward Ho, Saunton, Instow, Croyde to name but a few.

Sea trips can be booked to Lundy Island from Bideford.

The Milky Way and Big Sheep attractions are within 30 minutes drive are are just two of the popular local attractions for families.

There are local golf courses and fishing lakes and horse riding all within a few miles.

In the area are several excellent pubs/restaurants which come highly recommended - The Cranford Inn at High Bullen and The Black Horse Inn at Great Torrington are good examples.

In Torrington there are several take away's - fish and chips, chinese and indian and pizzas.
